TAG sells back issues going back to volume 42, 1966.
For many issues, we hold hard-copy inventory. For back issues (vol. 42 to present) whose physical copies are no longer available, we offer PDF copies for the same individual price.
The price is $12 for most issues, postpaid in the USA. There are two double-issues available at a higher price.
The table on the page ORDER > BACK ISSUES. lists all TAG issues since January 1966, noting whether they available or out of print in hardcopy, or available digitally as PDFs. To purchase back issues, use the “Order Now” button for any issue desired and pay online; alternatively, you may list the issues you seek, calculate total price, and mail your order list with payment by check to: The American Genealogist, P.O. Box 11, Barrington RI 02806-0011. To enable us to reply efficiently to all paper correspondence and orders, please include your e-mail address.
Sales orders (hardcopy or PDF) to Rhode Island residents will add additional 7% sales tax.
Additional postage will be levied outside the United States on all back issue orders. Paypal (our payment processor) will add an additional charge to your back-issue order. (This is currently also true for PDF-only orders; any assessed foreign postage fee will be manually refunded.)
For physical back-issue orders, please allow up to four weeks from receipt of payment for delivery. For PDFs, please allow 2-3 business days for delivery by email.
Which issue has the article I want?
To be sure that you are picking the correct back issue, use the Consolidated Table of Contents linked from our “Consolidated Table of Contents” page. Compare the page numbers for the article you want with the pagination listed for each issue on our back issue order page. Note that there are separate listings in the Consolidated Contents document for each part of an article appearing in successive issues, so you must review repeated hits for keywords in authors or titles to be sure that all parts of a serialized article have been found.
Earlier volumes of TAG:
TAG Volumes 1–8 (1922–1932), the first eight volumes, were originally published with the title New Haven Genealogical Magazine. They have been reprinted by Genealogical Publishing Company, Baltimore, Maryland, as Families of Ancient New Haven, with the original nine volumes bound into three larger volumes.
TAG Volumes 9–41 (1932–1965), thirty-three volumes, were reprinted by Picton Press in 1989, bound as eleven large volumes each containing three years of TAG. An Every Name Index to TAG, Vols. 9–41 was also created and sold as a CD-ROM by Picton Press. Picton Press is no longer in operation.
Author / Subject / Title index:
